Chances are, someone you know has been affected by domestic abuse.

On average, more than 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men in the US will be victimized by an intimate partner. Domestic abuse knows no boundaries of race, age or station. In fact, 1 in 10 high school students experienced physical violence in the last year alone.

Personally, domestic violence has touched my life in many ways. In addition to being in abusive relationships at various times throughout my 20s, I also devastatingly lost a friend to domestic abuse too. I’ll never forget the day I found out my full-of-spirit, larger-than-life, take-no-crap, beautiful friend had her life ended by her partner. She was the last person I would ever image something like this happening to, and it forever changed my life and all those who were lucky enough to know her.

Whether you know it or not, it’s more than likely that someone in your life has been a victim, or will be a victim in the future. To help, we have compiled this list of resources to help anyone suffering from domestic violence.
