A Local's Guide to Thrift Stores in Saint Augustine
Were you aware that St. Augustine has one of the best thrifting scenes around? Before kids, I could spend entire days bumping from store to store on the hunt for different treasures. My home is filled with secondhand finds, including most of my kids’ wardrobes! Not only does it help my budget, but there’s a huge sense of accomplishment discovering that perfect piece. I’ve put together this guide to help you feel that way, too. Read on for a list of terrific thrift and consignment shops in our Oldest City!
Children’s Consignment Stores

Around We Go opened in March 2022 on Anastasia Island and is St. Augustine’s only children’s consignment store. It’s lovingly run by a local mom and specializes in offering a selection of new boutique clothing, plus new and gently used clothing, shoes, toys, equipment, baby gear, and accessories on consignment. Around We Go also promotes local women and mom-owned small businesses to display their own items!
General Thrift Stores

Alpha-Omega Thrift Store is located near downtown, on San Marco Avenue in a new, large building. There, you can find a variety of items, from home goods to electronics, to baby items and more! There is a very large selection of clothing to go through, as well. By shopping here, consumers are supporting the Alpha-Omega Miracle Home, which assists homeless women and children in a transitional housing program.
Ayla’s Acres Animal Rescue Thriftique

Ayla’s Acres Thrift Shop has recently relocated to Anastasia Island and raises money to support the efforts of Ayla’s Acres No-Kill Animal Rescue. There are eight full rooms of furniture, antiques, clothing, art, books, and many collectibles! Along with education, outreach, and adoption/fostering programs, Ayla’s Acres maintains a 45-acre sanctuary where “unadoptable” animals may live out their lives with peace, love, and dignity.

The Betty Griffin Thrift Shoppes are chock full of bargains on items from clothes and shoes to furniture, housewares, bedding, appliances, jewelry, and toys. There is plenty of parking at both locations, and by shopping at these shops, you are supporting the Betty Griffin Center, which provides protection and services for victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault. They also accept donations at both locations.
Community Hospice Upscale Resale

One of the newest thrift stores in St. Augustine, the Community Hospice Upscale Resale store is like a mini department store, full of new and gently used clothing, jewelry, antiques, collectibles, furniture, appliances, housewares, books, and more! Plus, 100% of proceeds support their care and community-focused programs.

The only Goodwill in St. Augustine is located on US-1, just south of the 312 intersection. Here, you’ll find great prices on so many housewares, clothes, books, music, accessories, and electronics. The St. Augustine location is a part of the Goodwill of North Florida network, which seeks to help people with disabilities and special needs find meaningful employment.

Shop for unexpected treasures at the Haven Attic Resale Store! This thrift stop directly financially supports Haven patients and families, as well as other community members that utilize their services. If you’re looking to donate, Haven is happy to pick up large items!
SAFE Pet Rescue & Thrift Store

The SAFE Thrift Store is located at the 6,000 square foot headquarters of SAFE Pet Rescue, Inc. While you browse the large selection of clothing, shoes, furniture, artwork, appliances, and more, you can also visit the cats and dogs available for adoption. Sales at the thrift store benefit these animals and the organization that rescues them.

Support the Sertoma Club of St. Augustine by shopping at their thrift store, Second Time Around, located on Old Moultrie Road. The Sertoma Club serves the needs of individuals who have fallen upon medical or financial hardship, as well as at-risk children. Their store has more than meets the eye - definitely worth a stop next time you’re in town!

The St. Gerard Thrift Store is tucked away on Old Dixie Highway, north of State Road 312. It may be small in size, but it’s big on heart and extremely organized. Shopping here supports the St. Gerard Campus, which houses a non-profit maternity home and Christian high school for pregnant teenagers. St. Gerard Campus also provides a variety of free pregnancy services to women.
St. Vincent de Paul Society Thrift Shop

The St. Vincent Thrift Shop is a little like the Tardis: it’s bigger on the inside! Many different rooms make up this huge shop, hiding more treasures than you can imagine. Supporting this shop helps the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, a Catholic non-profit organization that seeks to serve locals in need.

Fifi’s Fine Resale is an upscale resale store that is part of a small Florida & North Carolina chain. Their motto is “pretty clothes at a bargain price,” and boy do they deliver. If you are looking for current designer and name brand apparel without the sticker shock, visit Fifi’s. They accept consignment at all of their locations.
