We understand that moving with kids can be stressful, overwhelming and exhausting! So, we hope that this guide eases your fears, helps you with the transition and gives you some guidance on where to call home when moving to St Augustine.
ABOUT ST. AUGUSTINE
The Oldest City was established in September of 1565 by Spanish conquistador Pedro Menendez de Aviles, St. Augustine is the Nation’s oldest European-established city.
St Augustine weather is generally warm and sunny. May through September is hot and humid. June through November is hurricane season. Winter (December through February) is warm and dry.
As part of ‘The Historic Coast,’ St Augustine is rich with history and draws travelers and school groups from all over to see this beautiful place.
Downtown St. Augustine
Downtown or Historic St. Augustine is a great area for foot or bicycle travel and has many iconic landmarks. Downtown St Augustine and Uptown San Marco area both include several boutique shops, delicious dining options, museums, entertainment, and a gorgeous waterfront view. This is also the most ‘touristy’ area but is constantly bustling with festivals, events and the highly acclaimed Nights of Lights display during the holidays.

WORLD GOLF VILLAGE
World Golf Village has expanded greatly over the years to become a central hub between Jacksonville and St. Augustine. The area is best known for the main attraction, World Golf Village, which includes a golf museum and the largest IMAX 3D screen in the southeast. This area is especially appealing for people commuting to Jacksonville for work but who want to live closer to St Augustine. Some of the most notable neighborhoods in this area include Murabella, Samara Lakes, Heritage Landing and Palencia (east of US 1).

NOCATEE & PONTE VEDRA
The northeast portion of the county includes Nocatee and Ponte Vedra. This area is ideal for families moving to St Augustine. The community of Nocatee offers suburban living with lots of added amenities. The neighborhood boasts two water park play areas for residents and they host lots of events throughout the year. Closer to the beach, Ponte Vedra sits right on the coastline as the main buffer between Jacksonville and St Augustine. Residents in Ponte Vedra enjoy an upscale coastal lifestyle. The area is best known as the home of THE PLAYERS Championship held at Sawgrass each spring.

ST. AUGUSTINE BEACH
If you’re moving to St Augustine and want to be close to the beach, this area is perfect for you. Along the coast of St. Augustine, there lies a barrier island called Anastasia Island. This is connected to the mainland by three main bridges: the historic Bridge of Lions in downtown St. Augustine, 312 bridge and 206 bridge in Crescent Beach. St. Augustine Beach is home to miles of pristine beaches and lots of coastal lifestyle neighborhoods.
